Mission Statement The Via Capote Observatory is a small private facility located in Thousand Oaks, California. The principle research conducted here is minor planet observation with a specific emphasis in determination of rotation period of these objects, particularly those whose lightcurve data has never been published. Target selection is primarily made from the Collaborative Asteroid Lightcurve Link (CALL) / "Light Curve Targets" section. http://www.minorplanetobserver.com/astlc/default.htm The facility also supports collaborative studies of minor planets that are suspected of being binary systems (asteroids with orbiting moons).
